A lovely place to visit. If you don't drive you could get the train to ash vale and then a number 3 bus that takes you just before the lodge. If you are driving it is free parking and it closes at 9PM. Lots of areas to explore and a lovely canal. Also has bike hire and a nice cafe for drinks, ice lolly or food. Public toilet which are kept clean. Highly recommend a visit.
On a cold, wet afternoon with no customers about they could have closed early but, luckily for us, they continued a take away service. So, Thank You for friendly service, good tea and coffee and a delicious slice of Almond Bakewell cake

The staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The food options are varied and tasty, and they accommodate us gluten free people. Dog friendly, with a donation box should u want dog treats. Bags of duck/swan feed for 50p for those who love to engage with nature. A fabulous new playground for children. A very well maintained grounds with lots of widllife. Icecream and shelter with toilets. What more could you ask. Worth a visit and stroll.
Great little place for coffee, soft drinks and ice-cream with picnic benches. The carpark is very big and free. The toilets are clean. There is a playpark very nearby with 2 zip lines and a sand pit. So much open space to run around. Think there is a miniature railway but we didn't see that on the map till the way out so, next time!
It's is so good that you can take your dog into the cafe with you. We always stop off for a hot chocolate before our walk and then we can get warmed up as you begin. The staff are very friendly and helpful .
It's great for a coffee and a decent menu for a cafe in a park.
